We are thrilled to be able to announce the release of our Chianti Classico Riserva 2019.
Coming exclusively from the Montecalvi Alto vineyard which was planted to Sangiovese in 1990, we made just two barrels of this wine from the outstanding 2019 vintage. This particular vineyard tends to give us neater, more compact bunches of Sangiovese and we undertook small batch fermentation with a higher percentage of whole cluster than in our Chianti Classico. The wine was aged for 24 months in old tonneaux so there is very minimal wood influence to allow maximum purity and elegance. It is available to order now for €29.50 per bottle. (Please note that, due to limited quantities, there may have to be some allocation.)
We are also very pleased to bring you the new vintage of VV 2016. This release follows a noble line of VV vintages and combines structure and elegance in real harmony. 2016 has been described as an extremely fine vintage in Tuscany, which was no mean feat after the stunning 2015. Tasting them alongside we can already see that, while both are outstanding, the 2016 is showing slightly brighter acidity pointing to its ageability. VV 2016 is available in very limited quantities for €55.00 per bottle. (Once again, there may have to be some allocation.)
